3-DHS Stamping Process
A patented process for three-dimensional hot stamping

Designing a stamping process for threedimensional parts is challenging due to the resulting deformation of the foil. Depending upon circumstances, the IMD

technique or Insert Molding may be used on these occasions. However, this calls

for a specially designed injection mold accompanied by a custom foil.

The pneumatic 3DHS hot stamping machine is equipped with a special 3D stamping unit that allows full surface decoration of parts with low to moderate 3D shape.

The machines used in this process are based on our standard line and are fitted

with a vacuum system, foil preheating unit and a sectionally heated die. The

precisely tailored tools, comprising of silicon die, part receiver, vacuum chamber

and conveyer are the key to achieving good stamping results.

The advantages of this process are readily apparent:

  • No special injection mold is required

  • A variety of foil designs may be used

  • Only minor additional modifications to standard vertical stamping machines are necessary. Foil clamping frame, vacuum units, temperature regulators for part receivers and, if need be, a foil preheating device
